Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts
!!! me no dj !!!
Forever with his thumb cocked looking for the next creative thrill ride as the sun goes down, Guillaume Coutu-Dumont’s music lends itself to the indigo hue of dusk, imbued with the sultry allure of jazz, the unquestioned groove of house, and the propulsion of techno.
As a solo producer, Guillaume was already causing atmospheric disturbances ahead of his debut album “Face À L’Est”, which appeared on Musique Risquee in 2007. Before the inception of his one-man band, Guillaume was moving and shaking with other protagonists via the Egg project with Julien Roy, Chic Miniature with Ernesto Ferreyra and Luci with David Fafard. All these projects share their history with the lauded Mutek festival, which Guillaume has been closely involved with since 2002.
After forging friendships with the Oslo Records and Raum Musik crews, Guillaume made a logical pilgrimage to Berlin in 2007. There has always been an undeniable leaning towards the soulful and the spiritual in Guillaume’s work, and even a move to one of the techno centres of the world could not shake him from a musical path that favours the organic, fundamental roots of dance music.
As well as his German brethren, Guillaume has a strong tie to the melting pot of the French underground house scene, having released music for Karat and eventually striking up a close working relationship with Circus Company. Fellow mainstay of the Parisian label Dave Aju can be found contributing to Guillaume’s latest venture, Guillaume Coutu Dumont & The Side Effects.
Taking the shape of a band proper, Aju has been coaxed into developing his considerable vocal talents, backed up by Nicolas Boucher on keys, Sébastien Arcand Tourigny on sax and Alexis Messier on guitar. With shows already performed in Montreal, Mexico, Switzerland, Barcelona, Poland, Zürich and Berlin, the band are loosening the programmed boundaries of Guillaume’s productions and opening it up to the improvisational potential of the live dynamic.
Beyond his achievements in modern beats, Guillaume has a rich and varied history of music experience, from percussion for a funk band to studies in Latin and classical percussion, a university course in electro-acoustic composition to years spent working in a Montreal studio, not to mention [iks], a contemporary jazz formation which produced two albums and a tour around Senegal.
Following the whirlwind of energy that has whipped up around Guillaume since those formative years, it feels impossible to predict where his turbulent creativity will fling him next. While many artists prefer to adopt a streamlined trajectory through their musical journey, Guillaume’s way is that of the carnival; wild and unrestrained but full of a positive, soulful exuberance. Along the way other characters get drawn into the party, sometimes shaping the direction it will take, but it is Guillaume’s unfaltering vision for what he wants to create that propels the parade.
Guillaume’s initial musical forays were as a percussionist in a funk band, after which he studied latin and classical percussions in college before discovering electroacoustic composition, which he pursued further at university. It was during this period that he joined [iks], a contemporary jazz formation with whom he recorded two albums and toured for several months in Senegal. Upon his return to Montreal, Guillaume decided to focus his efforts on composition.
Influenced as much by concrete music as by techno, which he discovered one night in the midst of a lightning storm, Guillaume founded Egg (Mutek_rec, Karat, Floppy Funk), Luci (Mutek_rec, Morris Audio), Chic Miniature (Raummusik, Musique Risquée), Flabbergast (Mutek_rec), as well as the artistic collective Racam. He has toured with one or another of these projects in north/south America, Europe and Asia. Since january 2007, Guillaume has reached European soil. Like many other, he chose Berlin as his new homebase. Traveling all around the block, he is always looking to get the dance floors grinning with guilty pleasure. SHAKE THAT ASS!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.
Fabio Florido
“When you find a balance between a passion for music and a pure love of nightlife, you have found the perfect combination to build something unique”
As a teenager Fabio studied at “Giuseppe Verdi” academy, Prato. However, it is fair to say that he spent most of his youth in night-clubs or festivals across Europe; spreading the essence of music & fun on his own skin and building his knowledge week by week and experiencing the party scene first hand.
In 2007 Fabio moved to London where for the first time he came into contact with the intricate world of music, he then spent hours and hours in the studio developing his own unique style that rolls techno and tech-house into one soul led him to his first released in early 2011.
Thanks to the many EP releases and remixes on countless European labels he was being recognised and quickly found support from artists like Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Luigi Madonna, Subfactral, Markantonio, Sasha Carassi and many more from across the globe. Such positive support has touched Fabio and has led him to concentrate not only with producing, he has also refined his own vision of music through his dj sets.
The fact that he’s never satisfied sees him in constant search of music, tools and new equipment to make him stand out from the crowd.
2012/13 was the period that took him to another level, having moved to Ibiza he came into contact with those who gave him the initial inspiration, his mentor, Richie Hawtin and his concept Enter.
ENTER. & Ibiza gave him everything he needed to understand what people expect from music. Throughout the year he was incredibly lucky to listen, dance and experience many of his productions played by the best djs on the most talked about dance floors in the world Space Ibiza & Amnesia.
Having held various residencies at Club 999 in his hometown and playing for Kehakuma “Zen Garden”this has seen Fabio take control of the floor like never before.
2014 and a new era for Fabio has begun. Having already cemented himself firmly within the ENTER. family. Fabio has become a central resident to the ENTER. party at Space Ibiza. Taking on the Sake room this year for six dates and also a prolific Enter. Main appearance before Marc Houle, Luciano and Richie Hawtin. This residency has launched Fabio at lighting speed onto the international circuit and garnered many fans for the Tuscan native.
Now onto August 2014 and things are heating up again. With his first EP “Be yOu” on Minus already out. There is no stopping.
With a huge portfolio of releases behind him, amazing gigs and unique achievements it’s clear that Fabio Florido has proven that he is one to watch for the future with the simple fact that the “best is yet to come” !
