Valentino Kanzyani

Valentino Kanzyani

As a founding father of Slovenian techno, Valentino Kanzyani has been involved in the country’s dance scene since the mid 1990s. A celebrated DJ first and foremost, Valentino built a solid reputation for himself whilst he was resident spinner of Ambasada Gavioli – Slovenia’s most famous electronic music club. His fame grew when he started spinning on three turntables as standard.
Joining forces with fellow countryman and techno champion Umek, Valentino saw his first release in 1999 under the moniker Recycled Loops. Due to the success of their joint EPs, Valentino Kanzyani and Umek set up Recycled Loops as a record label, which further helped establish Valentino as a major player in Eastern Europe’s techno scene. A number of world tours, festival appearances and big club gigs followed.
Whilst Valentino’s sound has evolved over the years, he is committed to protecting the art of the DJ with real integrity. Valentino set up his label Jesus Loved You in 2005, for instance, just as digital downloading was becoming the main dissemination channel for the music industry. Instead of joining the trend, Valentino decided to release his label’s music mainly on vinyl as a way to support the true original format of the DJ. And it is his love for vinyl that has seen him flourish today, to become one of most respected underground vinyl djs around.
Through 2012, Valentino released a series of Eps on Cadenza in the build up to his debut artist album ‘Love & Gratitude’. The latest EP as well as a continuous mixed cd which includes all tracks from the project was released in April 2013. The project showcases Valentino Kanzyani’s underground house vision and it also represents a new chapter in Valentino Kanzyani’s career – as part of Cadenza’s booking agency.
He is currently travelling for his “Love & Gratitude” Album Tour, his track “Bobby on Drums” has just been released on the new m_nus MinMAX compilation a few days ago and he has several other exciting new projects coming up this year. Stay tuned : )

Damian Lazarus

Damian Lazarus

The mysterious allure of musical vibrations can perplex and intrigue in equal amounts at the best of times, not least when the sorcery of a certain Damian Lazarus comes into play. Crosstown Rebels, Day Zero, Get Lost, Rebel Rave, his own DJ and production career, the discovery of a wealth of influential talents…all of these achievements and more make him not only one of the most respected exponents of the contemporary house and techno scene, but also one of its key tastemakers and pathfinders.

As a DJ, his mastery is unsurpassed. A true storyteller, Damian often holds court at those special times of the day when only his kind of DJ sets are required. Moments that demand a soundtrack that not only fits the mood, but elevates the atmosphere and takes the audi-ence to a whole other level of experience. Besides playing at the world’s best clubbing institutions (resident at DC10 in Ibiza for almost 10 years), Damian also specialises in performing beyond the confines of the walls of a club. He is an expert in performing his magic in extraordinary outdoor locations; jungles, beaches, the Robot Heart bus in the Nevada desert, Mayan ruins in Mexico and a whole host of other spellbinding sites around the world. Just one look at the superlative Day Zero event will tell you what Damian’s ethos is when it comes to outdoor exploits. Add to that Get Lost and Rebel Rave, two more events that epitomise his approach to hosting alfresco shows.

Damian’s visionary abilities are no more apparent than in the curation of music and his discovery of artists via the seminal label, Crosstown Rebels. During its 12-year lifespan, the label has been responsible for launching the careers of some of our scene’s best-known names; Jamie Jones, Art Department, Maceo Plex, Deniz Kurtel… His A&R skills are second-to-none, in direct correlation with the curation of his DJ sets. It’s his dedica-tion to seeking out unique talents that has helped to make his label one of the most influential outlets of recent times.

Crosstown’s sorcerer-in-chief has also applied these same bewildering powers to the de-velopment of his latest collaborative artist project, Damian Lazarus and The Ancient Moons. Lazarus has been joined at the production controls by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence), with album recording sessions recently completed in Mexico. The project brings together a wide assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players from around the world. Taking inspiration from Lazarus’s Lazpod series, Get Lost events and Day Zero festival, this is music for deserts, jungles and sunrises.

In tandem with the album project, Damian has also conceived a live show, with band members Zulu (vocals), Ben Chetwood (Percussion and Drums) and Rob Gentry (Keys) who perform live alongside the chief wizard himself on Modular Synths and FX. Damian Lazarus And The Ancient Moons hit the road in the Summer 2015, bringing a whole new dimension to festival stages and intriguing outdoor locations such as Glastonbury, Wilderness, III Points Miami, Crssd Festival and many others.

Throughout a career spanning many years Damian Lazarus has worked tirelessly to main-tain a constant flow of creativity and innovation within the house and techno sphere. Never losing focus, he continues on his mystical pathway to greatness, unleashing his positive spirit on the masses at every opportunity.

Open your mind, embrace the magic, and get ready for the next spellbinding chapter…

Saschienne

Saschienne

Saschienne is the duo of Julienne Dessagne and Sascha Funke, signing responsible for a uniquely genre-bending body of work that is as intricate as it is propelling – an expertly balanced blend of both the abstract and the concrete. Pooling the forces of different musical backgrounds, Funke and Dessange formed Saschienne in 2012, debuting with their sublimely subtle full-length “Unknown” on Kompakt. Already, Funke himself was no stranger to the advanced techno club circuit, with much-acclaimed releases on Kompakt and BPitch Control under his belt, while singer and producer Dessagne subsequently developed her own electronic solo project between exquisite post-industrial leanings and hedonist dance culture, releasing EPs on Optimo Music and Hippie Dance as The Twins. In 2015, the pair followed up their debut album with the EP “Golden Prints”, delving deeper into the twisted realms of somber, yet strangely soothing electronic music. Also touring with an array of synthesizers and drum pads, their leftfield techno/pop live show has been continuously described as a showstopper – those who know, know.

PAST EVENTS

Pirupa

Pirupa

What Pirupa has accomplished in the last years is astounding and this is just the tip of the iceberg, making him one of the producers and DJs you have to watch.

A talented DJ/producer from Italy, Pirupa has recently separated himself from the pack of successful producers by topping beatport’s charts with his last releases. Now with two of the most downloaded tracks on Beatport “Sweet Devil” in 2009 , “Get Funky” in 2010 and “Party Non Stop” in 2012, the sky’s the limit for this relentless talent from the small peninsula.

Signed to impressive (well known) dance record labels in the world (Drumcode, Crosstown Rebels, Desolat, Intec Digital, Get Physical, Defected, Cècille, Viva Music, Saved, Noir Music, Rebirth, Snatch! Records, Suara, Stereo) Pirupa has recently remixed Sharam and the legendary Jamiroquai for Universal, more than Riva Starr, NiCe7, Luca Agnelli among others.

Pirupa has accomplished this in a short period of time, building a reputation that takes most artists a lifetime to achieve. A feat like this can cause some people to sit back, relax, and acknowledge their own success but this has only caused Pirupa to work harder with new hot releases!

His success in the studio led to rank at #11 in the Top100 Most Charted Artists of 2010 on Resident Advisor and has landed Pirupa gigs at some of the most prestigious clubs in the world, gracing the decks of many leading venues.

His “Party Non Stop”, first released on Desolat and then on Defected, has been recently awarded “Track of the Season” at the Ibiza DJ Awards 2012 and has also been the most charted track on Resident Advisor for the whole 2012.

His DJ sets are a mixture between House and Tech House, with some Deep and Techno vibes, which have brought him to play alongside legends such as Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Pete Tong, Marco Carola, Steve Lawler, Deep Dish and many more.

Pirupa’s tracks are regularly supported and played by Pete Tong, Luciano, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Paul Van Dyk, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Danny Tenaglia, Dubfire, Nick Curly, Erick Morillo, Matthias Tanzmann, Steve Lawler, Nic Fanciulli, Joris Voorn, James Zabiela and Mark Knight to name a few.

Francis Galante

Francis Galante

Dj producer Italiano.

Berlin’s Santé emerged as part of a wave of new producers with a different cut to their electronic jib around the time that deep house was losing its way somewhat. His productions ooze character, charisma, soul, colour, humour and above all a sense of humanity.

After teaching himself to play the guitar in his early teens, Santé bought himself an Akai MPC-2000 when he was 16 and set the ball rolling for a life entrenched in electronic music. “I was totally into sampling and house” he recalls of those early days of button bashing and experimentation. He left his hometown when he was 21 to immerse himself in the dance music mecca that is Berlin. The plan was to study music at university, but failing the entrance exam meant he had to pursue other endeavours. A studio internship blossomed into a full-time career, with the emerging talent spending six years producing jingles and ad music and nurturing his passion for house music at any opportunity. Nothing was released, however, until one of his demos found its way to Matt ‘Radio Slave’ Edwards. His first ever release came out on Edwards’ acclaimed REKIDS imprint, setting the bar incredibly high and garnering him a lot of high-profile attention in the process.

The next major stepping stone for him was meeting two guys named Ali and Basti – also known as Tiefschwarz. “They were looking for a new engineer and took me to their label Souvenir, where I got the freedom to release my music and have a playground” he explains. This fruitful, intense relationship lasted three years before Santé decided to fly the nest in search of new pastures, his sophisticated sound developing all the while. In recent times, his style has taken on yet more verve, with the warmth of the house he has always known and loved now bolstered by a loose techno rhythm and percussive drive. The sensuality remains, yet with more dance floor urgency. Whether its one of his acclaimed live shows or one of his DJ sets you’re listening to, the infectious energy is always there.

He describes himself both as a party animal and a studio gremlin (“because you need to be both to do music!”), and cites his biggest influences as The Cure, Talking Heads, Aphex Twin and the Detroit techno pioneers and legends. Embracing both the convenience of the present (producing wherever he goes on his MacBook) and the charm of the past (one look at the rented 808 in his studio will attest to that), he is a producer who effortlessly spans the old and new skool in the most uncontrived of ways.

A look at his upcoming release schedule spells out what a diverse producer he is and how far his popularity ranges – from bastions of techno like Cocoon to the kings of big room house Defected, through to underground darlings like Desolat, Supernature and 8Bit. Few producers can claim such a breadth of imprints to be associated with at any one time. When you ask Santé to describe his musical style, he says he doesn’t really know how to – which goes someway to explaining his widespread appeal.

Plans for the future include his long-awaited debut artist album, which he promises will be more of a song-based affair than a straight-up collection of dancefloor grooves (“to show a few more skills”), and his fledgling Avotre brand, currently housing a record label and with a clothing line in the making. With his impressive release schedule to boot, he’s looking to be bigger than ever over the coming months.

Giorgia Angiuli

Giorgia Angiuli

Born in Puglia, also known as the heel of Italy´s boot, Giorgia is a composer and multi-instrumentalist. She is part of the project We love on Bpitch Control Records and she has been resident performer at Tenax Club 1.0 in Florence for 2 years. After a classical music education Giorgia developed in a short time a deep interest in the electronic music and she started experimenting new live techniques. From the very first project Metùo she aimed to create a multi-sensorial performance mixing sounds, images and scents. She never stopped looking intensely for the interaction with her public.

In the year 2010 with her audio visual project WE LOVE she concluded an exclusivity agreement with the label Bpitch Control performing in many clubs internationally. In 2013 she started her residency at TENAX club (Florence, ITALY). This experience gave her the chance to test a new style, creating always different live acts and having the opportunity of constantly improvising on stage. Giorgia Angiuli composed also soundtracks for movies, commercials and fashion shows collaborating with many well-recognized musicians. In 2014 she became a part of Kevin Saunderson’s legendary techno label KMS, from December of the same year Giorgia Angiuli is represented in Italy by La Terra Management, the agency founded by DJ Ralf. Giorgia Angiuli hosts currently a radio program Live is More in collaboration with the agency of the same name on the Italian sender Soundzrise (http://www.m2o.it/) presenting the most interesting live acts performing in the worldwide dance scene.

Stylistically Giorgia´s solo project moves between pop, techno and house. She uses her voice to create a dreamy dimension intensified by the use of unique toy instruments. During her set she combines keyboards, drum pad and theremin with the sounds of toy flute, sax, trumpets and many other toys. Mixing all these samples and loops she shapes a vibrating and energetic groove that sets the dance floor on fire. She currently lives in Florence.

wAFF

wAFF

Over the last two years wAFF has become one of the most engaging artists on the international circuit joining the ever popular and influential Hot Creations / Paradise family, several highly commended releases and a residency with Jamie Jones’s ‘already under his belt. As the future offers up a whole world of opportunity, he’s putting his all into creating music of the highest quality, built to unite and excite in equal amounts. He started out in North Yorkshire with no connection to the global night world apart from an unquenchable passion for music. But he listened. He worked. And now he’s right in the frame.

wAFF has a single, ‘Vibrationz’, forthcoming on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label. His Paradise DC-10 residency is the hottest tip for Ibiza 2015. He’s responsible for red hot tunes such as ‘Freaks’ for Sven Väth’s Cocoon imprint, and the supremely funky ‘Break A Sweat’, co-written with Spanish don Cuartero for the Leipzig label Moon Harbour (the Patrick Topping mix is also excellent). His music has been getting the nod from Sven Väth, Adam Beyer, Loco Dice, Joseph Capriati, Marco Carola and dozens more. He’s even been asked to collaborate with Masters At Work. Not bad going. And that’s not all. Other wAFF collaborations in the works include Eats Everything, Patrick Topping, Cuartero and Argy, as well as remixes for Groove Armada (‘Final Shakedown’), Fur Coat (‘There’s No Time’), Hot Since 82 (‘Plane and Trains’), and Mike Gill featuring Robert Owens (‘In The Midst’).

wAFF grew up in Hull and got into dance music via the happy hardcore of the ‘Bonkers’ compilations. He then moved sideways into indie, during the minimal boom of 2003-04 he found a style of dance music that truly drew him in, the stripped down pulse of producers such as Troy Pierce, Audion and Minilogue. After this he threw himself into it. His Koala parties achieved success in Hull and Leeds, becoming genuine roots down rave sensations, done for love. He also spent three seasons is Ibiza, dancing all night, sucking up the music, figuring out what worked, distilling it all into his own music.

A former dancer and actor, self-expression has always come naturally to wAFF. Music became another extension of his creative output around 10 years ago when he began to flirt with production. He quickly became obsessed with making music but remained staunch in his belief that he would only release music if he thought it was going to make a big impact. So for several years he toiled away, inspired by visits to Ibiza, the early years of DC10; DJs like Marco Carola, Tania Volcano, Loco Dice and Luciano all feeding into his pool of inspiration. Along the way friends tried to encourage him to release the music he was making immediately, but he sat tight, adamant that he would wait until he’d struck gold. He now has an affinity with his studio that sees him making music for many of his waking hours.

A chance meeting with Richy Ahmed in Ibiza set the wheels in motion and, when the track was ready, he sent it to the Hot Creations A&R. It was snapped up immediately and the track left a trail of devastation in its wake, championed by the bossman Jamie Jones of course, and played by everyone from Sven Vath to Cajmere.

As you might be able to tell from the labels that he’s releasing with wAFF is operating within the house and techno sphere, keeping it tough yet emotive, captivating the dancefloor and creating a deep, absorbing narrative with each track. Current inspirations include Ben Klock, Marcel Fengler, Fred P, Marcel Dettman & Oliver Deutchmann, masters in the art of combining rugged beats with deep, heartfelt melodies.

wAFF is a gifted young man, exuding energy from deep within. He applies this gift to his music, promoting positive vibes and connectivity through his music. He’s proven time and again that he transmit powerful frequencies that captivate and transfix audiences around the globe.

This has turned out to be a fine thing for dancefloors across the world. For those who want the human throb of house tethered to the punchy, driving power of techno, wAFF is now the name.

wAFF’s aim is simple; to make a difference to the world through the transmission of energy through music, judging by his progress so far, he’s bound to achieve that righteous goal… and the positive beats keep rolling.

French DJ and musician living in Ibiza, Marc Antona is founder of his own label Dissonant and artist of reknown Music On party. Marc has been spreading for years his unique sound across the world, producing advanced underground music and performing live and DJ-sets in world’s most famous clubs…

Marc Antona’s Iberian influence is laid bare throughout : having his own studio in Ibiza, he fondly says that the white island has “so much contrast between the peaceful nature and the amazing clubbing scene, with so much energy that ideas are plentiful when it’s time to make music.”
Throughout discoveries as a musician, Marc’s passion for “creating musical trips, taking people into his world and making them enjoy the changes of moods from happiness to melancholy, from energy-pumping moments to relaxing deep waves” has developed and is now clearly on point with his latest tracks.

2012 sees Marc Antona’s style recognition : music as a journey with tracks and DJ-sets full of hidden grooves and melodies within the beats and kicks. It has been a heavy year : parties from Australia to Womb Tokyo, collaboration with tINI (Desolat) on Dissonant and Moon Harbour, release on Adam Beyer’s label TrueSoul, remix for Re-UP on Upon You, releases on his own label Dissonant…

Peakpoint has been Marco Carola’s invitation to play for his Music On party at Amnesia in Ibiza. Music On has had a rocket-start and has quickly gained his status of most successful clubbing event and biggest revelation of this year ! Sharing with Marco Carola a full musical and personal respect, Marc Antona goes on with Music On after the summer season and enjoys being part of this geat adventure.

In 2010-2011, Marc Antona had decided to embark on his independent project and create his label, Dissonant, when he felt the time was right to stress on his own vision of electronic music. On that year, not only did Marc put out three highly praised EPs on his label, he also built and nurtured its concept to what has been the home of his first full length album ‘Rules Of Madness’. Thru this first album on Dissonant, Marc showed his own creative vision of what he wants to be sexy underground music : organic tunes full of hidden melodies and underlying emotional ambiance whilst keeping the pumping vibe experienced in his dj-live sessions.

Before, Marc had been producing and releasing his explorative electronic music on labels such as Mobilee, Highgrade, Freak N’Chic or Micro-Fibres for years. Nothing more than a few hits had already been produced through his former imprint “Micro-Fibres”, among them “Sharks” or “Neurons”, topped at all charts first places… In addition, Marc quickly added signings at prestigious labels which sounds fitted his universe : more hits came out of these releases, as “Xtension” on Freak N’ Chic, “One more sugar” on Mobilee or “Not a serious thing” on Sender records !

Matter of fact, for the mind and spirit, but also for the dance floor and everything in between, Marc has performed many times dj-sets at reknown clubs, such as Fabric (London), Panorama Bar, Watergate, Week-end (Berlin), Space, Amnesia (Ibiza), Rex (Paris), Goa (Roma), Tenax (Firenze), Barraca (Valencia), Goa @ Fabrik (Madrid), D-Edge (Sao Paulo), Street Parade (Zürich), Circo Loco (London, Lausanne), Space (Miami) … to name but a few…

Marc Antona’s music is the best proof that techno can be sensual… 😉
